The former BJP President, who is pitched against Dikshit and AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal from the constituency, said in her earlier years in politics Dikshit had contested three elections from Kannuaj in Uttar Pradesh and one from East Delhi.
Gupta, who wanted to contest from Shalimar Bagh or Rohini, was asked to contest from New Delhi seat minutes before the candidates’ list was announced. Dikshit is likely to contest from this seat while Aam Admi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal will also enter the fray from here.

A cost of Rs 5,000 was on Monday imposed by a court in New Delhi on Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for her non-appearance in a defamation case lodged by her against BJP leader Vijender Gupta.
